Basically the application does not load. I open blackthorne and the initial Splash gets to Uploading Database then just stalls. The entire server then slows down and nothing really processes. I've ran an anti virus software which resulted clean, restarted the machine several times, and attempted to reinstall with Repair. Please advise.

Application is on 2008 server and SQL Server 2008.

Hello,

If you have not yet done so, please run both repairs outside of the program starting with the views repair.

To do so, go to start-all programs-ebay-blackthorne software-ebay blackthorne database repair. Run the views repair first, then once it shows successful, run the database repair.

If it still hangs, it could be pvt corruption. Browse to the following path:

C:\Users\<youruser>\AppData\Roaming\eBay\Blackthorne

The appdata folder may be hidden so you'll want to enable it if its not showing. Instructions to do so are below once you're in Windows Explorer.

For Vista/Windows 7:

Click the "Organize" dropdown and select "Folder and Search options". Next, select the "view" tab and make sure "show hidden files and folders" is checked.

Once you're in the Blackthorne folder, locate and delete the following two files:

Settings.pvt
Sytem.pvt

Next, open Blackthorne. If it opens successfully, you can cancel out of the first-run setup screens.

If it still does not open, then you may need to restore a backup. Follow the instructions above again to get to the "database repair" screen. Next, click "restore backup". Browse to your backup folder, select a backup dated before this issue started, click "open", then "ok" to restore.

I tried all the steps with no luck, accept unfortunately cannot do the restore. I received an error stating the file path for the restore is not correct.

However the application did end up loading, I thought to just leave it for several hours and eventually it loaded. Now all seems well, except that the the layout settings are back to default and the store categories are missing for all products. I can see them when showing store category column in grid, but opening view product page does not have any store category.

Please advise.

Hello,

Do you mean when you're viewing the details of a record, you don't see the "store category" dropdown or you don't see the actual store category selected?

Go up to the "refresh" menu and select "update seller account information". This should active the dropdown in the record.

If the store category is not selected, then you'll need to re-select the store category you wish to list to. You can use the "bulk change" feature to make it faster.
