Ahoy!!

Bought a new server and installed SQL 2008 Express. Worked through all the SQL 2005 documentation to set the properties and permissions for the SQL 2008 as best I could.

Next I installed latest version of eB. I have two eBay accounts. On my first account, I made the connections and VOILA . . . all the items and listings imported from eBay without issue.

Next I set up my second account in eB. This account has never been used in BT. When I set up seller #2, eB asked for my information, made the connection. However, when I attempt to import all the running listings from account #2, eB runs for a bit and completes after about a minute without any import taking place.

Activity log says:

com.ebay.app.pres.service.hosting.WebServiceDisabledException: The web service eBayAPI is not properly configured or not found and is disabled.
at System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapHttpClientProtocol.ReadResponse(SoapClientMessage message, WebResponse response, Stream responseStream, Boolean asyncCall)
at System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapHttpClientProtocol.EndInvoke(IAsyncResult asyncResult)
at eBaySvc.eBayAPIInterfaceService.EndGetFeedback(IAsyncResult asyncResult)
at Blackthorne.BTeBayCalls.EndRefreshFeedback(IAsyncResult ar)

I saw another poster last month with this same error, but the thread was already closed and archived without answer. What gives??

Any idea what is missing from my setup? How can it work on one and not on the other?

Is this Seller the selected one in the Items Sidebar?
No? Set/try again.

Good Morning BAM;

I rechecked my settings. The Seller dropdown is indeed set to my second account. Then I selected:

Refresh --> Update Categories and Item Specifics
Refresh --> Update Seller Account
Refresh --> Refresh Activity
File --> Import --> Import from eBay

No dice. The error log continues to show the same error message.

Something I noticed. In the Create Items --> Items Tab --> There are no categories. When I try to select a category for my test item, nothing shows up at all. Strange.

Thanks for the try BAM.

If there are any eB users that are working fine under SQL Express 2008, I would sure like to hear from you.

Thanks

Ahoy!

Issue resolved!
This thread can be closed.

My issue was that I was connecting eB to a second ebay store for the first time. Store A was already associated to eB so it downloaded nicely like is is supposed to do. Store B would not import orders from ebay after I made a fresh eB install to a new SQL Express 2008 DB.

A deeper reading of the "Free 30 day trial" of eB discovered that during the trial there is no integration to my ebay account. Thus, eB could not import my orders.

As soon as I subscribed to eB for the second account, everything works normally.

Lesson learned . . . don't be suckered by freebies. They only cause headaches.

Jean -

You can manage up to 5 eBay ID's with one Blackthorne account. You may not need that second subscription.

SAME issue here. If ebay has never seen that account be accessed through that IP address, it will pop up a "phone call" or "text me" verification process. However that window doesn't stay on top and if you click the mouse anywhere while you are going through the Auth process, you won't see it!

I went through this dozens of times before I finally saw the window, did the verification and then was fine.

Pro supports 5 users, you definitely do not need to have that 2nd sub.
